Rockin Double J Farm, LLC is owned and operated by Judy and Jim Mezzanotte. We are located in Monroe, North Carolina, approximately 45 minutes southeast of Charlotte, N.C. We began our operation about seven years ago after determining that we were tired of going horseback riding on other peoples horses. What began as a passion for riding quickly developed into a passion for mountain horses. They truly are addictive. Rocky Mountain horses are such calm and loving horses that they earned a special place in our hearts. We started by getting each of us and our grandson, Christopher, a personal horse and are now up to over 30 head, with more on the way.
We are also pleased that because of the love our granddaughter, Cheyenne, has for these horses, our daughter Karen, has decided to leave the big city and move out to the country to be closer to us and the horses and to help on the farm. She has purchased Lakota Farm, which is located directly behind Rockin Double J Farm. We hope this will be the beginning of a family business to be handed down through the generations.
Due to the fact that we began small and have grown, we have been able to maintain daily contact with our horses. They are led to and from pastures each day. Their grooming is begun at an early age, as well as farrier and veterinary care. It is for this reason that once it is time to put them under saddle, it is a very easy transition for them.
We have been very diligent in our breeding practices in order to produce horses of excellence. While some of our breeding has been targeted at producing show quality horses, most of our breeding has been done with the intent of producing a good, sturdy, calm, well gaited trail horse. We think this is the type of horse the majority of people are looking for. All of our horses are beautiful and possess that wonderful temperament which is their trademark. Our three stallions bloodlines go back to Dock, Kilburns Chocolate Sundown, Sam Clemons Tim, Choco, Yankee, Sewells Sam and Buddy Roe.
We have horses of all genders and ages for sale. Please visit the appropriate section to see weanlings, yearlings and geldings for sale. We also welcome visitors at any time. Please feel free to stop by whenever you are in our area.
